SZP Partner Amir Begdesenov Spoke at the 7th Central Asia Trade Forum

On 18-19 October 2017, the Almaty Rixos Hotel hosted the 7th Annual Central Asia Trade Forum devoted to Future Growth: Trade, Transport, and Horticulture.  The Forum was sponsored by USAID, the leading US Government agency (Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs in Central Asia).

SZP Partner Amir Begdesenovmade a presentation onLegislative Issues in Frontier Technologiesin which he covered such issues as the regulation of drones and renewable energy sources (RES) applications and online taxi services, as well as the antitrust legislation approach to frontier technologies.

This year’s Forum focused on the enhancement of the competitiveness of horticultural exports and transport and logistics services to increase participation in global trade and provide jobs for the region’s growing workforce.

Over the past six years, more than 4,000 business executives, policy makers, and industry experts from over 25 countries have attended the Forum.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the leading US Government agency responsible for administering aid to foreign countries to promote social and economic development.  The main sectors of the Agency activity include economic growth and trade, agriculture and food security, healthcare, emergency humanitarian assistance, conflict mitigation and prevention, democracy, human rights and governance, etc.  USAID partnership with the Kazakhstan Government was launched in 1992.
