Iskander Zhanaidarov, Formerly Senior Lawyer of One of the International Law Firms, Has Joined Sayat Zholshy & Partners as a Partner

Sayat Zholshy & Partners informs of Professor Iskander Zhanaidarov’s joining the Partnership.

Professor Zhanaidarov has a successful experience in the area of integrated due diligence of various enterprises in mining and processing industries and banking sector for the purpose of acquisition thereof or issue of shares. He was engaged in preparation of transactions on purchase of the largest facilities in the power and mining industries.

Mr. Zhanaidarov participated in many large judicial and arbitration proceedings, including representation of interests of the state, subsoil users, and service companies with respect to default on contractual obligations, delivery of defective equipment, and unfounded additional tax assessment.

Prior to joining Sayat Zholshy & Partners Mr. Zhanaidarov had been working in the capacity of a senior lawyer at one of the international law firms operating in Kazakhstan for 9 years.

The previous experience of Mr. Zhanaidarov also includes acting in the capacity of the director of the Institute of Legislation of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan, senior lawyer of the Commercial Law Project for the Central Asian Republics (USAID), advisor of Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz Law Firm, lawyer of Sigma JSC and Meridian LLP, and served internship in Nabarro Nathanson Law Firm (London).

Along with the extensive knowledge in the law and business area acquired while working as a lawyer, Iskander has a wide experience in teaching. Iskander Zhanaidarov is Doctor of Juridical Science, Professor.

He is the author of 104 scientific works on the state-owned property relating issues, state involvement in civil law relations, transportation, trust property management, foreign economic agreements, legal status of legal entities, insurance, and housing legislation, which were published in Kazakhstan and Russia. Among the works there are three individual monographs, eleven multi-author books, including the Civil Law manual and Comment to the Civil Code. He participated in preparation of more than 80 draft laws.
