Kazakhstan amended the rules for entry and stay of immigrants in the country
On 7 April 2016, Kazakhstan Government adopted a resolution introducing amendments to the Resolution of 21 January 2012 “On the Approval of the Rules for Entry and Stay of Immigrants in the Republic of Kazakhstan and for their Exit from the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Procedures for Migration Control and Registration of Foreigners and Stateless Persons Who Illegally Cross the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Illegally Stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan and of Persons Who are Prohibited to Enter the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
One of the main novelties is the simplification of the procedure for registration of foreigners in Kazakhstan. In particular, from now on, the receiving party (either a legal entity and/or individual) may enter information on the visa and migration portal of Berkut Unified Information System by applying their personal digital electronic signature and print out a passport insert certifying the registration of an immigrant on paper. The new procedure allows the inviting party not to appear in government authorities for handling foreigner registration procedures and to avoid queuing in migration police, thus creating comfortable and modern conditions for registration of foreigners arriving to Kazakhstan.
The aforementioned Resolution came into force on 24 April 2016.
