SZP SENIOR PARTNER AIDYN BIKEBAYEV ELECTED AS CHAIRMAN OF THE PUBLIC COUNCIL OF THE KAZAKHSTAN AGENCY FOR THE PROTECTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETITION

On 21 January 2024, the Public Council of the Kazakhstan Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition elected SZP Senior Partner Aidyn Bikebayev as its Chairman.

The Public Council is an advisory and supervisory body set up by the Kazakshtan Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition for the implementation of various initiatives and recommendations aimed at the improvement of antitrust legislation developed by the Agency.

Aidyn Bikebayev is the author of a scientific monograph on antitrust law titled “Antitrust Law and Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan” (the first of its kind) and the Kazakhstan section of Competition Law in Central European Countries, a research book published by international publishing house Wolters Kluwer Law and Business, and over 70 scientific and op-ed articles on the most pressing legal issues.

In 2021, Aidyn was elected Chairman of the Kazakhstan National Bar Association.  Since 2022 Aidyn is a member of the National Assembly (Kurultay) and the Human Rights Commission set up by the Kazakhstan President.
