To the attention of CEOs!!! Significant Changes to the Regulations on Quantitative Restriction of Foreign Employment

By Resolution No. 189 of 13 April 2018 the Kazakhstan Government amended the Regulations on Quantitative Restriction of Foreign Employment in the Republic of Kazakhstan (Foreign Employee Quota) and Establishment of a List of Foreign Employees Who Do Not Need a Work Permit from Local Executive Authorities.

The novelty is that, from now on, CEOs (and deputies thereof) of Kazakhstan 100% foreign-owned companies do not need work permits, although, in the past, the exemption applied only to CEOs of branches and representative offices of foreign companies.

The Resolution will enter into force in 10 calendar days after its first official publication.

SAYAT ZHOLSHY & PARTNERS will continue to track developments in legislation governing foreign employment in Kazakhstan and will keep our Clients updated about the status of the regulations.  Should you need any assistance with the obtainment of work permits, feel free to contact us.
