SZP Partners have been elected as members of the Council for Protection of Competition formed by the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs

On December 7, 2015 the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan (the “NCE”) adopted a resolution on the establishment of the Council for Protection of Competition (the “Council”) and approved the Council Regulations and the Council composition.

Senior Partner Aidyn Bikebayev and Partner Amir Begdesenov were elected as members of the Council and Aidyn Bikebayev was appointed as a Vice Chairman of the Council.

The Council is a permanent advisory and consultative body of the NCE intended to ensure efficient interaction between government agencies, business and science communities and non-government organisations in their joint efforts to work out practical proposals and recommendations on the creation of effective mechanisms of competitive growth of the country.

One of the Council’s objectives is to analyse and to work out the NCE’s stance on the following aspects of the competition protection policy:

- improvement of legislation;

- identification of priority issues needing legislative and/or administrative solution;

- participation in drafting regulatory legal acts;

- development of enforcement practice; and

- anticompetitive practices undertaken by government authorities.

Viewed at large, we firmly believe that the Council will promote competition and will become an effective mechanism to protect entrepreneurship.
