The Foundation Meeting of Kazakhstan Bar Association was held in April 27th, 2012

Dear friends!

We’re glad to inform you that the Foundation Meeting of Kazakhstan Bar Association (hereinafter KazBar) was held in April 27th, 2012.

The initiators of KazBar are:

• Sayat Zholshy and Partners;
• Yelyubayev & Partners;
• Olympex Advisers;
• Aequitas;
• GRATA;
• Salans.

The KazBar key tasks are:

1) legal market regulation assistance;
2) implementation of civilized ethic rules of conduct for the lawyers;
3) lawmaking activity participation;
4) creation of the coercive authority for the public with the purpose of KazBar members status support.

137 persons participated and were represented at the Foundation Meting. The employees of the following law firms participated at the event:

• White & Case;
• Norton Rose;
• Almaty International Airport;
• Dechert;
• Kazakhmys;
• Shevron;
• Petrokazakhstan;
• Uranium One.

It’s worth mentioning that before the Foundation Meening we received the letters that expressed the support of the KazBar creation idea from the American Bar Association and Belorussian Lawyer Association.

In the course of this Meeting the KazBar Charter was adopted and the manpower was defined, the Managing Board was appointed and membership fee was fixed.
