Participation of Amir Begdesenov, Senior Lawyer, in the Seminar “Board of Directors’ Committees: International and Kazakhstan Practice”

The Seminar was organized by Governance & Management Consulting together with the IFC Corporate Governance Project in Europe and Central Asia. The target audience was represented mainly by corporate secretaries, managers and corporate secretarial service specialists, board of directors’ secretaries, and in-house lawyers of various joint stock companies, including banks.

In his presentation Amir Begdesenov touched upon the key changes in the Kazakhstan Law On Joint Stock Companies, presented the new version of a number of definitions and commented on them. The main topics discussed at the Seminar included such issues as the purpose of board of directors’ committees, legislative requirements to their activities, as well as comparison of Kazakhstan and international practices.

The Seminar also included a workshop covering the following exercises: Audit Committee Competence, Strategic Planning Committee Competence, HR and Remuneration Committee Competence, etc.

Upon completion of the Seminar discussions, the participants were awarded training certificates.
