Partner Amir Begdesenov made a speech at the annual Eurasian Antitrust Forum “Detection and suppression of the facts of abuse of dominant position”

On 16-17 February 2017, Royal Tulip Almaty hosted the annual Eurasian Antitrust Forum “Detection and suppression of the facts of abuse of dominant position”.


Amir Begdesenov presented to the Forum his work “The Concept of Collective Dominance in EU Law” and gave a master class featuring his investigation of the SK-Pharmacy case.


The Forum participants discussed the most vital issues of competitive environment creation in the Eurasian Economic Union and the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the issues of detection and suppression of dominance abuse, dominance in cross-border and specific industry markets, and recent developments in the Kazakhstan antitrust legislation.

The Forum speakers and participants included the representatives of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union (Chairman A. A. Fedortsev and Vice Chairman Z.N. Baishev), Eurasian Economic Commission (Director D.Z. Zhandarbek of Antitrust Policy Department), antitrust authorities of EEU member-states (Deputy Chief A.N.
