SZP Partner Amir Begdesenov Delivering a Presentation at the AIFC Working Meeting with Kazakhstan Legal Community Members

On 9-10 January 2020, the Astana International Financial Centre (the “AIFC”) held a working meeting with members of the Kazakhstan legal community devoted to such issues as the strengthening of relations with local practitioners and the arrangement of a platform for discussion of the most pressing problems connected with the AIFC operations.

The meeting participants were updated on the AIFC recent achievements and perspectives for 2020 and discussed a number of practical issues related to the AIFC jurisdiction and its applicability, in particular, specific features of performance in the AIFC regulatory framework, potential involvement of state-owned companies in AIFC arbitration proceedings, AIFC regulation of securities transactions, etc.

SZP partner Amir Begdesenov delivered his presentation titled “Government’s Consent to Involvement of a State-Owned Company in AIFC International Arbitration Centre Proceedings: to Seek or Not to Seek”.
