Sayat Zholshy & Partners Participates in Kazakhstan-China Seminar in Chongqing

On 7 September 2026, Arman Berdalin, Senior Partner, spoke at the seminar “New Opportunities along the Silk Road: Economic, Trade and Legal Cooperation with Kazakhstan”, held at the Chongqing office of Beijing Dacheng Law Offices LLP.

Kelsey Wang, China Law Consultant to the China Desk of Sayat Zholshy & Partners, also participated in the event.

In his presentation, Arman Berdalin provided an overview of Kazakhstan’s investment and legal environment, with particular focus on foreign investor market access, regulation of investments in certain sectors, state support measures, opportunities offered by the Astana International Financial Centre, and mechanisms for resolving cross-border disputes. He also addressed practical legal issues that Chinese investors should consider when structuring projects in Kazakhstan, including the choice of an appropriate legal framework, obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals, and establishing an effective contractual and investment structure.

Kelsey Wang complemented the discussion with a Chinese investor perspective, focusing on the macroeconomic environment, regional opportunities, and practical considerations for Chinese companies entering Central Asian markets.

Participation in the seminar formed part of Sayat Zholshy & Partners’ ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with Chinese law firms and the business community, and to support international investors implementing projects in Kazakhstan.
