SZP Partners Spoke up at the Forum “Antitrust Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Eurasian Economic Union” in Astana

On 9 April 2015, the Radisson Hotel in Astana hosted the annual Forum “Antitrust Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Eurasian Economic Union” sponsored by JSC “Centre for Development and Protection of Competition Policy” and Non-profit Partnership “Supporting Competition in the CIS” with support of the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies and Protection of Competition of the Kazakhstan Ministry of National Economy, Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and Kazakhstan Bar Association. The Forum was also attended by representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission and the National Chamber of Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs.

Aidyn Bikebayev, Senior Partner of Sayat Zholshy & Partners, presented to the Forum his report “Antitrust Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Problems and Suggestions for Improvement”, and Amir Begdesenov, Partner and Patent Attorney of Sayat Zholshy & Partners, presented his report “Unfair Competition: Practice and Suggestions for Improvement of Legislation”.

The mission of the Forum is to establish dialogue between regulators, experts and businesses operating in the Kazakhstan market. The issues discussed by the Forum are relevant and essential due to the urgent need for harmonization of antitrust laws in the Eurasian Economic Union.
