Kazakhstan Dispute Resolution Forum Featuring SZP Partner Amir Begdesenov

On 10 March 2017, the Almaty Holiday Inn Hotel hosted the Kazakhstan Dispute Resolution Forum.

The Forum highlights:

·         Disputes with the Government;

·         Disputes Between Companies; and

·         Arbitration and Mediation.

SZP Partner Amir Begdesenov attended the Forum where he presented his study of the antitrust case against SK-Pharmacia LLP.

The SK-Pharmacia case made headlines due to its novelty.  Most probably, it is the first case in Kazakhstan practice when a purchaser is accused of abusing the dominant position.  The imposed penalty made up 1.3 billion tenge.
